HARVEST FEST
A big Thank You to all the parent volunteers at our Harvest Fest this week. The kids had such a great time!
CONGRATULAIONS LADY LIONS
On Thursday, girls’ varsity volleyball won 2-0 against Westminster Christian to be the first ever HCA team to capture IHSA 1A regional divisional champions title. The Mitch was packed with a roaring crowd that cheered them on to victory. The Courier News and Daily Herald ran articles on the event. Sectional competition begins Tuesday, November 1 at Westminster. We will compete against Morgan Park Academy at 6:00 P.M. Let’s pack the house there and cheer on our girls to great success!
PTF
Parents, did you know that a portion of the revenue made through PTF last year went towards the purchase of laptop computers for our teachers? It is such a privilege to be able to bless our teachers and our school in this capacity. Please continue to participate in BoxTops, Colonial Cares Benefit Nights, GIFTS, and the Consignment Sale. Let's try to make an even bigger impact this year.
Thank you for all of you who came out to support our Algonquin Colonial Cares Benefit Night. This event brought in $400 in revenue for our school! Don't forget to mark your calendars for our Elgin Colonial Cares Benefit Night on Tuesday, January 3. We hope to have a St. Charles event sometime this spring.
Let's hear it for our BoxTop Team! They did an amazing job of coordinating the collection and processing of BoxTops in order to meet our November 1 deadline. Because of everyone's efforts we will be submitting almost $1000 worth of BoxTops. Way to go HCA Families! Our next submission deadline is March 1, so keep cutting.
HCA Serving Opportunities -
- Handcrafted Birthday Cards - We need volunteers to make handcrafted birthday cards for our teachers and staff. The PTF gives a gift card to all staff on their birthdays and we like to present this gift in handcrafted birthday cards. The cards will be created in the home of Rachel O'Brien on Saturday, November 5 from 10:00 A.M. - noon. If you have been looking for ways to serve at HCA but can't volunteer during the week please consider this wonderful opportunity. Those interested please contact Rachel at reobrien513@gmail.com.
- GIFTS - We are looking for one to two more people to sit at the pick-up table and distribute orders on other days besides our current Thursday morning time slot. If you are available, please contact Shelly at HCAgiftsprogram@gmail.com.
